The UroCycler® – Bladder Management System

The “Governor’s New Product Award” judged by the Florida Engineering Society and presented by FL Gov Jeb Bush, 2002 in a ceremony conducted in the Old Capitol Building in Tallahassee, Florida. This award recognizes the results of the efforts and foresight of companies whose aggressive policies bring new products to the marketplace.

The “Laufman-Greatbach Prize”, 2002, awarded by the President of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, an honor for the development of an important new medical device that enhances patient care through medical instrumentation. Awarded in Minneapolis, MN at a banquet ceremony during the annual Meeting of AAMI.

The “Governor A.W.Gilchrist Humanitarian Award” presented by FL Gov Jeb Bush, awarded in 2002 by the Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers at their annual meeting in Ponte Vedra, FL for “outstanding and innovative engineering design,.” Also recognizing a member of the engineering profession who exemplifies the spirit of public service that betters humankind, therefore, bringing honor to the engineering profession.

The “daVinci Award for Assistive Technology” presented by Mr. Nick Scheele, COO of Ford Motor Company at the Sept. 2002 annual Dinner with da Vinci at the Ritz Carlton in Dearborn, MI and judged jointly by the Engineering Society of Detroit and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, recognizing the organization and individuals who offer a unique new medical product to enhance quality of life.

The “Albert M. Sargent International Progress Award” presented by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers at their May 2003 annual meeting in Michigan to recognize significant accomplishments in the field of manufacturing processes, methods, and systems

The Design News Grand Prize Winner in the 23rd Annual “Excellence in Design” Competition presented 3/4/2003 at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry during National Manufacturing Week and received the Design News Excellence in Design Medallion plus a technology grant award From the President of MSC Software Corporation.

Winner of the “Medical Design Excellence Award” for Rehabilitation and Assistive-Technology Products from Canon Communications, LLC and Medical Device and Diagnostic Industry (MD&DI) magazine based on design & engineering features that improve healthcare delivery & change traditional medical practices. Received their Gold Award 6/3/2003 during the Medical Design & Mfg (MD&M East) Conference at the Jacop K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

Winner of the “N.S.P.E. New Product Award” from the National Society of Professional Engineers, honoring contributions to society. The UroCycler® was chosen for its exceptional engineering research, design & overall potential impact on our national economy. This award was won twice: (State) Ft. Lauderdale, FL and later (National) in San Antonio, TX.

Winner of the “R & D 100 New Product Award” for one of the 100 most Technologically significant products introduced into the marketplace in Sept. 2003.in the Grand Ballroom of Chicago’s Navy Pier.

In 2005 the UroCycler® won the “Stevie Award,” the American Business Awards equivalent of the “Oscar,” for its prosthetic and patient-safety medical products in the “Best New Product” category created and submitted by a small company. This award was presented by Mr. Donald Trump at a ceremony in the Marriott Marquis on Times Square, New York City.

2006 “Modern Marvels:” “Invent Now” challenge Semi-Finalist. Given jointly by the History Channel and Invent Now, Inc, a division of the National Inventor’s Hall of Fame Foundation. The UroCycler® magnetic, prosthetic sphincter system for the urology professionals & catheterized patients was selected from over 4,300 entries as one of the top 25 semi-finalists in the Modern Marvels Invent-Now Challenge shown on television. It was awarded 5/24/2006 at Vanderbilt Hall in Grand Central Station, NYC.
